AdvizorPro's Q2 2026 RIA ETF data was featured in August 2026 by ETF Trends, WealthManagement.com and InvestmentNews. The report tracked 5,398 RIAs present in both Q1 and Q2, and follows AdvizorPro's Q1 2026 RIA ETF Holdings Report.
RIAs Held More ETFs in Q2
The average RIA held 92.9 ETFs by the end of June, up from 88.4 in the first quarter, according to ETF Trends. Of the RIAs tracked, 63.4% added funds, 18.2% trimmed their lineups and 18.5% made no change. Turnover held at 11.6% of holdings.
Technology and AI Funds Led Additions
InvestmentNews reported that technology funds attracted 230 net RIA allocators, more than any other segment, and that SOXX and SMH each gained more than 200 net RIA relationships. Commodities-focused funds shed 103 RIAs, and digital assets lost 86. WealthManagement.com quoted AdvizorPro CEO Michael Magnan: "AI was one of the clearest stories of the quarter. Advisors piled into semiconductors and chip stocks like SOXX and SMH, plus AI-specific funds like AIQ and QTUM, while pulling back from the commodities and crypto trade that led last quarter."
New Launches Saw Limited Adoption
WealthManagement.com also quoted Magnan: "Over 1,000 ETFs launched by mid-year, a record pace, but advisor adoption of new ETFs didn't match that." InvestmentNews reported that RIAs adopted only 41 new-launch tickers in Q2, down from 140 in Q1.
Which ETF Issuers RIAs Hold
WealthManagement.com reported that iShares was held by 4,991 unique RIAs, followed by State Street Investment Management at 4,737 and Vanguard at 4,599. Invesco led the top 10 providers with 95 net new RIA relationships. For the issuers growing fastest, see AdvizorPro's analysis of the fastest growing ETF issuers among RIAs.
Model Portfolios and ETF Assets
InvestmentNews also cited an ISS Market Intelligence report estimating that $1.8 trillion, or 35%, of $4.3 trillion in ETF assets in discretionary accounts showed model-like characteristics.
